Cosmetics Class Action LawsuitSo how do you feel about the cosmetics class action lawsuit that has been going on what seems like secretly for some years now? I can’t lie I have always wondered even when almost everything is on sale in Macy’s or Nordstrom why the makeup is always full price. In the past I never questioned it enough not to buy makeup, but now that I see this lawsuit, have we been getting cheated all these years Laughternoon Break: Creepy CandyI don't even have much to say about this, but some of this stuff is just wrong! Bacon Floss, Gummi Haggas, Gummi Slugs ....WRONG I say.
Project Runway Rewind: Design JungleI knew it was coming, the team challenge, and it wasn’t as bad as I though ( I still wish they would do away with them). First off kudos from Brooke for taking a risk with Blayne but…..
Blayne/Leanne: the look screamed Jr. Dept, and where was Leanne?
Jerrell/Stella: Jerrell won the partner lotto with Stella. That outfit screamed Lipstick Jungle office appropriate, I was pleasantly surprised as I think the judging panel was as well. The glasses and shoe option was fug though L
Keith/Kenley- I still question Kenley’s “taste” she picked an ugly fabric for a third time. Thank goodness Keith didn’t use it and stuck to his vision which was amazing and worthy of all the praise it got. Again Lipstick Jungle office appropriate
Kelli/Daniel- The blind leading the tasteless. That hideous suit was way too Fredrick’s of Hollywood. Michael Kors said it best “slutty, slutty, slutty”. And why isn’t Daniel still not OUT? Wait and Kenley laughing at Daniel when he mention his "taste" for the umptenth time was the hightlight of the show....I mean she laughed hard.
Korto/Joe – Even the toned down jacket was too much for me personally, but I think Brooke’s character would have been able to get away with it in another color in her office. I think Korto took her immunity and made something just okay, and Joe didn’t give feedback appropriately.
Terri/Suede- A partnership made in hell, her design was too club girl, and not enough office, and the top was a little “dated” in my opinion. But Suede being a baby and Terri calling him on it made for good TV…lol @ “I don’t know if he’s packing balls of va jay jay but he needs to man up”
P.S. Can’t wait until the next episode. Drag Show YES! The knockoff debate
So I'm at another site, and the topic of "Knock-Offs"comes up as it frequently does there, and I was shocked by some of the responses. I can't lie I have the Forever 21 Chloe-esque shoe/boots, but shoe's is as far as I will go with "knock offs"I just have a problem with how some people thinks it's okay to bash one company like Forever 21while a the same time praising another like ZARA/ H&M who does a lot of "inspired looks" ( which I think is code for accpetable knock off). Some of the same people who bash companies who thrive in knockoffs wear designers that support the inhumane slaughter of animals as well as use sweat shops ( there are sweatshops in Italy) but use the ethics arguments as a reason that knockoffs are bad. Project Runway Rewind: Design-lympics First let me start off by saying the judges seem to be getting things right now although some of the designs that were ushered off stage may have deserved a tongue lashing. Here’s what I thought:
Korto- Her outfit was fabulous, ant those pants were the BEST that wasn’t only a Olympic worthy outfit but a every women worthy outfit
Suede- His looked like Miu Miu a la Kristen Dunst knockoff
Kelli- Her outfit was a red, white and blue housewife and not on theme with the challenge
Joe- His outfit above all other designers even the winner hit the challenge mark he made an outfit for an athlete
Leanne (pictured) – Once again made one of the best garments of the season, she is slowly becoming one of my favorites
Daniel -His dress seemed to be from two challenges back, it was too cocktail for this challenge I was expecting his girl to put on a pill box hat and start hading out cigarettes
Jerrell – EWWWWWWWW, hot mess, too much print, and that hat oh my that hat
Stella – Black or not I thought her outfit was nice but she need a pop of blue to take her to the next level
Keith- his outfit was cute, but too skimpy …more holyimpics than Olympics
Terri- Her outfit was almost perfection; it was classic, tailored, and well though out, but that tube top was just too tight
Jennifer- Well it’s seems like she may be hard or hearing because she did matronly again, and didn’t even include any red in her garment, I did like that she used gold
Blayne- Well he was Blayne and had a youthful, La La Land type of look that was fashion but not necessarily Olympics I still liked it though
Kensley- Once again has picked a questionable fabric ( plaid was a bad move) and again no red in site, I hated it and it too was dated and not what I would expect for an Olympic game Louis Vuitton Debacle I thought there was no one better than Splendora readers to understand my frustration. 5 years ago I bought a Louis Vuitton bag from a luxury store; fast forward to 2006-2007 I have grown out of my desire to carry bags with labels on it so I decided to take my bag to a consignment shop that I frequent. This shop sometimes deals in high end items so I felt comfortable taking it there. To my surprise they examined that bag with a fine tooth comb thought it was a fake, but took it anyway because I am a frequent client and had some level of trust. Well two weeks later they gave me my bag back and said that under further investigation they have decided the bag is a fake. I thought it was no way to get my 275 dollars back or even authenticate this purchase, luckily the store still had my purchase history on file and I was able to retrieve my order unfortunately the email I sent to the company bounced back and they still haven't returned my message I sent over an hour ago. I’m just wondering if they are going to give me my money back or authenticate this item? Project Runway Rewind: Bright Lights Wet City Are the judges smoking crack before panel? Let me just say this before I go I’m my little tirade Keith’s wet newspaper dress was kinda cute and didn’t deserve the ripping it got now his rat tail is a whole other story. Okay back to my orginal point the designers get to pick their own fabric for the first time and Kensley picks and insanely fug print that has be “questioning her taste” as Nina would say and she actually adds two tones tulle to it and Paradise Prom Queen Barbie wins, that dress had me almost screaming “ the plannnnnnnnne the plane” at the t.v. And since when is “dynasty bitch” a compliment? The real winner was Leanne who rocked it hands down, her outfit was wearable, well made, hand her point of view, and we could all wear that skirt and top. How glad were you to finally get to see Terrry’s fab work and was it just me or didn’t Jerrell’s full length gown deserve a little love? Project Runway Rewind: Cocktail Dress Mess What’s up with Project Runway this season? Is it just me that’s feeling like a lot of dresses/outfits that are worthy of a second look are getting rushed off the stage and not getting any extra critique/praise? I know it’s only the second episode, but I felt some of the best/worst dresses weren’t even in the best/worst review. I also thought Kensley had the best dress and should have won although it was very season 4 Christian Siriano/Chris March? To be very honest Blayne’s and Leslie's dresses were two of the cutest but you barely got to see them and Jerrell’s dress was a heidous/hoochie way worst than Wesley's good design, but poorly made dress. Oh and the winner Suede I get why he won he put in work, but that dress (Bridesmaid dress from hell) was umm well not mass marketable and that was part of the challange...sort of. The only reason anyone would buy it is because of its association to a tv show. Tulle+ Cocktail Dress + Grown ass women= HOT MESS! Inspired by Project Runway I have to tip my hat to Hip Candy blogger/designer Chanel for rocking her own challenge at home and creating a Newspaper and Coffee Filter Dress.
FIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERCE! The Picture is Mightier than the PenI refuse to post the infamous New Yorker Obama picture, because I think that is part of the problem that the image keeps getting broadcast ( even on liberal media outlets) every five minutes creating a false truth in the minds of some Americans. The cover was meant as a joke ( irony is so cool), one which I'm intellegent enough to get, but one that I don't think is funny. The New Yorker must have forgotten that there are what the pundits/press have been calling "low information" voters, who don't read the newspaper, or pay close attention to the campain and use "snipets", and what is presented on the news well as fact. Hell there are 13% of American's who still think Barack Obama is a Muslim ( and what if he was why does that matter). When is the media going to take some repsonsbility and understand that the image is mightier than the pen. For many what they see is what they get, that cover is all they need they won't even crack the New Yorker open to see a very good article. This goes to add to a great injustice that this on canidate has been seeing ...the media hasn't been doing a good job of seperating fact from fiction and in this type of historic campain it saddens me. |
